MaxiNutrition – Thermobol Caffeine Free Review

MaxiNutrition Thermobol – Caffeine Free Fat Burner

MaxiNutrition formerly known as Maximuscle is well-established manufacturer of sports supplements. They have been around for a number of years and have a range of products on the market.

One of their fat burners, Thermobol – Caffeine Free is designed for anybody wanting to achieve a leaner definition. This caffeine free version can be taken at any time in the day.

I’ve reviewed this product to see how good MaxiNutrition Thermobol – Caffeine Free fat burner is.

  • Caffeine free – people with caffeine allergy or intolerance can still take this product.
  • High levels of green tea extract – there’s plenty of research supporting the effectiveness of green tea when it comes to weight loss.
  • Available to buy on a number of different websites and it is even available in stores.
  • Cheaper than competitor products.

  • High levels of bitter orange peel – there are potential side effects associated with bitter orange peel such as increased blood pressure and heart rate. Combined with other stimulants like caffeine it can be potentially dangerous.
  • No appetite suppressant ingredient in the formula – less effective than double action formulas.
  • There is a lack of evidence supporting the benefits of L-carnitine or L-tyrosine.
  • Low levels of cayenne pepper extract

Thermobol caffeine free amazon review

We haven’t found any customer testimonials on Youtube or on the company’s website. Looking further on social media this product seems to have no mention anywhere. The lack of activity around this product raises the question if people are using it at all and if they do why are they not sharing it with the world.

Top 3 recommended fat burners

There are four main ingredients in this caffeine free fat burner.

Bitter orange peel (975mg per 3 capsules), L-carnitine L-tartrate (900mg per 3 capsules), L-tyrosine (900mg per 3 capsules) and Green tea extract (300mg per 3 capsules).

On top of this, MaxiNutrition Thermobol – Caffeine Free fat burner also contains a number of additional ingredients such as B vitamins, very low amounts of cayenne pepper extract, black pepper extract, biotin and chromium.

Bitter Orange Peel

The first ingredient, Bitter Orange Peel is a natural thermogenic. It is thought to work by increasing the body’s metabolism, making you burn more fat. Although it is a natural ingredient, it contains synephrine and octopamine. These are compounds which have similar effects to that of ephedra, an ingredient previously banned by the FDA due to the related health risks.

MaxiNutrition Thermobol – Caffeine Free fat burner contains 975 mg of bitter orange peel per daily serving. In a 2006 study researchers have found that even after a single dose of bitter orange supplementation of 900 mg,  healthy young adults experienced significantly increased blood pressure as well as significantly increased heart rate1.

The next main ingredient, L-carnitine, an amino acid that is naturally produced in the body. Meet, fish and milk are all natural sources of L-carnitine. A study from 2011 found supporting evidence that combined with low-intensity exercise, L-carnitine helps to reduce the body’s consumption of carbohydrates and instead uses more of the body’s fat stores to turn into energy2. However, the effects of L-carnitine seem to be exercise intensity dependant.

Another key ingredient, L-tyrosine’s primary function is to build proteins. It also plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy mood, combating stress3 and fatigue. It is used in some pre-workout supplements to help you give a boost of energy, but in higher doses it is also believed to facilitate weight loss by increasing the body’s metabolism. Despite some research, there is still a lack of evidence supporting these amino acids’ positive effects on weight loss.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea extract, the final main ingredient is a lot less controversial. There is plenty of research out there in support of this natural ingredient as a fat burner. It contains polyphenols that increase the body’s metabolism and therefore increasing the rate at which the body turns food into energy. A safe and natural fat burner with a proven track record4.

The dose of 300mg per daily serving is a little bit on the low side.

Potential side effects of MaxiNutrition Thermobol – Caffeine Free fat burner

Due to the bitter orange peel content of this product, it has potential side effects such as increased blood pressure and elevated heart rate. These can be potentially dangerous when combining with other stimulants such as caffeine. People taking bitter orange combined with other stimulants have reported stroke and heart attack.

Research also shows that L-tyrosine can cause some side effects as well such as restlessness, anxiety, and even insomnia. In large doses, heart palpitations can also occur.

Final Verdict on MaxiNutrition Thermobol – Caffeine Free fat burner

Taking everything into account, I would give this product a below average 1.5 out of 5 stars.

The product label does state ingredients and their quantities which is a good start. Not hiding behind a proprietary blend is always a bonus, but it quickly goes downhill from here.

The fact that this product contains high amounts of bitter orange peel is a definite downside. This is a controversial and potentially dangerous thermogenic. Due to the potential health risks bitter orange may pose, I would not recommend taking products that contain this ingredient.

There is a lack of evidence in support of some of the other main ingredients’ effectiveness. The only natural, safe and effective ingredient in this product is green tea. This goes for the product. However, the amount is on the low side. Furthermore, Thermobol Caffeine Free only contains thermogenics, so it doesn’t help to suppress appetite.

Customer Reviews

The lack of customer reviews available on the different platforms and the fact that there is no activity around Thermobol Caffeine Free on social media raises questions. It is questionable whether people are using this product and if they are then why they aren’t sharing their experience.

This caffeine free fat burner is cheaper than other competitor products. However, in my view, this is down to the lack of effective and safe natural ingredients in the formula.

Money Back Guarantee

The company seems to offer a money back guarantee. However, there are strings attached so you may not be eligible for a refund. The website advises the following about the money back guarantee on offer.

“We are so confident of our products’ effectiveness that we guarantee it. Just use the products as instructed on the label for 30 days, all the while maintaining a sensible training regime and a healthy diet. If you are not satisfied with the results, please send the goods back to us in the original packaging to us within 40 days, including your training and meal plans where we will review and determine if you qualify for a refund.”

Overall, my advice would be to spend a little more to get a more effective product that achieves your weight loss goals in a safe way.
